Well, I think the malaria has passed, if indeed that’s what it was. It may well have been Liz’s flu, which happened to coincide exactly with the bug bites… we may never know! Still, I’m feeling much better now, and apart from being a little bit tired (which is completely my own fault for not getting enough sleep) I’m fine.

However, the outlook is marred slightly the imposing doom that is the latest fund-raising venture of the chaplaincy. Some bright spark, who shall remain nameless (Ellie, ahem), suggested a system whereby people put money on people and the person with the most money against their name by the end of the term gets put in a bath of baked beans. Great. Except that somehow I was volunteered to be a dunking candidate. Thankfully I’m not on my own, Alex and Julian are in this too, but so far I seem to have amassed more money than them. Haven’t worked out quite how that happened – I always thought I was too sweet and innocent for people to have anything against me… My ploy has obviously backfired!! Well, we’ll see what happens on Sunday (or Zero Hour, as I like to call it). You never know, there might just be an anonymous donation that saves my bacon…

Incidentally, Matthew, the reason your previous post didn’t work was because you didn’t install that update I sent you. Didn’t you? Hmmm? HMMM??? I’m pretty sure that had the bug fix in there for including quotation marks in the title. By the way, if it helps – I’m not putting any of my money on you for getting dunked in beans!
