Kaiser Chef

I did some cooking today. No, not pasta or beans, but REAL food! I was so pleased with myself!! After our chaplaincy service this morning I invited Esther back to mine for lunch, but we ended up going to her house instead, so I used their kitchen and cooked lunch for Esther and Anne-Marie (my housemates for next year). I did a nice potato bake thing, with a layer of potato, then tomatoes, then some mozzorella cheese, then another layer of potato and some more cheese on top, all baked in the oven for 20 minutes. It was delicious!! I felt a little cheeky making myself at home in their kitchen, but I suppose they were getting a free meal out of it, and without having to do any of the preparation! I actually found it quite rewarding, and it’s nice to know I can actually cook something half-decent without too much difficulty. I did worry that having given up meat Sunday dinners would become more boring, but if I can increase my repertoire with meals like this one, I’m sure I’ll survive!

Also been looking at some more houses on the internet. I’ve found some very nice 4 bedroom houses, one with fruit trees in the garden and another which has a dishwasher built in!! How cool would that be?! Of course we’d have to find another person to share the house with, but I’m sure we’d be able to find someone from somewhere if push came to shove…
