Braindead

Ever get those moments when you’re busy doing something, then all of a sudden you get a complete mental block? I was just writing The ChapAss File, a run down of everything I’ve done this year as a handover tool and a reference document, and I suddenly stopped being able to think. I just sat in front of the computer screen, staring into space, not entirely sure why I couldn’t think of anything. I think I need a brain upgrade, mine’s already getting a bit slow!

Also had a music rehearsal this afternoon for the Day of Prayer and Fasting tomorrow. I’m leading the music in a couple of sessions, so I thought I’d put my guitar to good use and write different chords to most of the songs!! All good fun! Makes the songs feel a little more alive, more fresh, and keeps people on their toes too. Should be good tomorrow, I’m really looking forward to it!

Just waiting now for people to arrive for the Saturday Night Social. Alex and Ellie have something big planned, not sure what it is yet though. All we know is that they’ve been planning something for about 4 months, and it’s called “The Ultimate Plan”. I have to admit, I’m just a little worried about what it might turn out to be…

  1. You’ll have to let me know what “The Ultimate Plan” was – unfortunately I missed it due to the choir’s performance of Vaughn Williams’ ‘Sea Symphony’ at Snape. (very good, by the way). I know the feeling about being braindead – if you think that’s bad, try sitting at a computer for the whole day working for a software house – not good!

  2. Get used to it, Matthew, it’s called “getting older”. I’ve been doing it for quite a while now and actually I only function properly for 5 minutes of every hour these days.
VW Sea Symphony? Christopher and I sang in that last weekend with the South Devon Choir and the North Yorkshire Chorus. Sadly we could only make 2 of the rehearsals so I sight-read some of it and blagged my way through the rest! Good fun though.

  3. “VW Sea Symphony”… I didn’t realise Volkswagen had brought out another new model. Is that like the Citroen Seven Seas (C7…)?

  4. No, I think it’s something to do with the car made by the Citronic Car Conundrum Cuckoo Computer (un-)Crashing Cars Ltd. The “Seven Cs” car. I’ll get me coat…
